Getting started

Install

Download the .dmg from detexts.com, drag Detexts to your Applications folder, and open it.

Grant permissions

When macOS prompts, allow:

• Microphone — to record your voice.
• Accessibility and Input Monitoring — to detect the global shortcut and paste text.

These are standard macOS permission prompts. You can review them anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Pick a model

On first launch, download a local transcription model:

• Whisper Turbo — recommended, most accurate.
• NVIDIA Parakeet V2 — fastest, English only.

That's it — you're ready to dictate and translate.
